She followed that passion to an art academy in Paris,
where she learned, experimented,
and began to find her own way of seeing.
She kept painting.
One work became a series.
One series led to another.
A few paintings appeared in small exhibitions.
Most were never shown.
They stayed in her studio,
stacked one behind another, seen by only a few.
Over more than thirty years,
they quietly became an archive of a life spent painting.
Now, for the first time,
these works are coming together and stepping out of the shadows.
Brought to light opens Luz’s hidden collection—a private world,
built over a lifetime, finally made visible.

Inspired by the historic Hortus Botanicus, Amsterdam. Luz keeps a Coral Plant (Jatropha multifida) at home, along with a collection of its dried leaves. This diptych is part of her ongoing series, begun in 2016, on the textures and forms of plants, leaves and dense greenery.
